Age Verification & Responsible Sales

1. Legal Purchase Age

Tobacco products are age-restricted products in Australia.

You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase tobacco products from AUSTOBAC Official Store.

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally permitted to purchase tobacco products.

2. No Purchase on Behalf of Minors

You must not purchase tobacco products on behalf of a person under 18 years of age.

Purchasing or supplying tobacco products for a minor may be unlawful under applicable Australian laws.

We will not knowingly accept or fulfil an order where we have reasonable grounds to believe that the products are intended for an underage person.

3. Age Confirmation on the Website

When entering the website, customers may be required to confirm that they are 18 years of age or older through an age-confirmation prompt.

Customers must provide an honest response to the age confirmation.

At checkout, customers will also be required to confirm that they meet the legal age requirement before completing a tobacco purchase.

Passing the website age confirmation does not prevent us or our delivery provider from conducting further age verification.

4. Age Verification at Delivery

Because tobacco products are age-restricted, the person receiving the parcel may be required to provide a valid government-issued photo ID showing that they are 18 years of age or older.

The delivery provider may refuse delivery where the required age verification cannot be completed.

The person receiving the parcel must not attempt to use another person’s identification document to obtain an age-restricted delivery.

5. Accepted Identification

Subject to the requirements of the delivery provider and applicable law, acceptable forms of photo identification may include:

  • A valid Australian driver’s licence;
  • A valid Australian proof-of-age card;
  • A valid Australian or foreign passport; or
  • Another valid government-issued photo identification document accepted by the delivery provider.

The identification document must be valid and sufficiently clear to verify the recipient’s identity and age.

The delivery provider may determine whether a particular identification document is acceptable.

6. Failed Age Verification

If the recipient cannot provide acceptable identification when required, the parcel may not be delivered.

Where a delivery cannot be completed because the required age verification is not satisfied, the parcel may be returned to our Sydney warehouse.

Any refund or further delivery arrangement will be assessed in accordance with our Order Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable Australian law.

7. Orders Requiring Additional Verification

We reserve the right to request additional age or identity verification where reasonably necessary.

We may refuse or cancel an order where:

  • The customer’s age cannot be satisfactorily verified;
  • The information provided appears inaccurate or inconsistent;
  • We have reasonable concerns that the order may be intended for a person under 18;
  • The customer attempts to circumvent age-verification procedures; or
  • Fulfilling the order may breach applicable Australian law.

8. Responsible Sales

AUSTOBAC Official Store does not knowingly sell or supply tobacco products to persons under 18.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information and complying with applicable Australian tobacco laws.

We may take reasonable steps to prevent underage sales and may refuse transactions where compliance requirements cannot be satisfied.

9. Legal Disclaimer

This policy is a general commercial website template and does not constitute legal advice.

Australian tobacco and age-verification requirements may differ between federal, state and territory jurisdictions. Businesses should obtain advice from an appropriately qualified Australian legal professional to confirm their specific compliance obligations.
